Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Beneath Analytics collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you can exercise over it. In short: we collect what you deliberately send us, we set no analytics cookies until you consent, and you can ask us to delete or correct your details at any time by email.
What we collect, why, and for how long.
Last updated October 2026. Written in plain language; where a right is absolute under the GDPR, we say so.
Who we are
Beneath Analytics is an analytics, data, and AI consultancy based in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland. For the purposes of the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Beneath Analytics is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Questions about it can be sent to contact@beneathanalytics.io.
This policy applies to this website and to any enquiry you make through it. It does not cover websites we link to, including our product sites, which publish their own policies.
What we collect
Information you choose to send us through the contact form: your name, email address, company (optional), the topic you select under “What are you trying to solve?”, and the message you write. If you email us directly, we keep that email thread.
Technical information about your visit (pages viewed, approximate location, and device type) is collected by our analytics tool with cookies and full identifiers only if you opt in through the consent banner. Before you choose, the tool receives limited, cookieless signals. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by this site.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data (health, political opinions, and the like), and we do not buy, rent, or sell personal data.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used to reply to you, to understand what you are asking for, and, if you decide to engage us, to prepare a proposal and deliver the work. Replying to an enquiry is done at your request before any contract exists; delivering services is necessary to perform a contract; improving the site is in our legitimate interest.
Nothing you submit through the form subscribes you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing unless you ask for it. We do not make decisions about people by automated means using this data.
The contact form
The form on our contact page is processed by Netlify, the platform this site is hosted on, which delivers your submission to our inbox at contact@beneathanalytics.io. Netlify acts as a processor on our instructions.
We keep enquiries for as long as they are useful for following up, normally up to 24 months after our last exchange, or for the duration of an engagement plus the retention period Irish law requires for business records. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner and we will, unless we are legally obliged to keep it.
Analytics and consent
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used, and a consent management platform (Usercentrics) to ask for permission first. No analytics cookie is set until you actively consent. The GA4 script loads with all storage denied (Google Consent Mode v2), so before you choose, and if you decline, Google receives only cookieless pings, such as the page being viewed and approximate, non-identifying device details. These are used for aggregate, modelled reporting. Our host also keeps an aggregate page-view count for security and reliability.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the consent settings the site provides, or by clearing your browser storage for this site. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement; it does not undo processing that already took place while you consented.
Where analytics is active, data is used in aggregate to improve the site: which pages are read, where visitors come from, and what is ignored. Google processes this data under its own terms as a processor, and we keep retention configured to a limited period.
Local storage and theme preference
The site offers light and dark themes. Your choice is remembered using your browser's local storage, which is a small amount of data kept on your own device. It is a functional preference: it is not sent to us, not combined with any identifier, and not used to track you across sites.
You can remove it at any time by clearing site data for beneathanalytics.io in your browser settings, which simply returns the site to its default theme.
Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run this site and respond to you: Netlify (hosting and form processing), Google (analytics, only if you consent), Usercentrics (consent management), and our email provider. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Links to third parties such as LinkedIn take you to sites with their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
International transfers
We are based in Ireland and, by default, your data stays in the EU/EEA. Where a provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on standard contractual clauses, together with the provider's own technical safeguards.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@beneathanalytics.io from the address concerned. We normally reply within one calendar month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the site, our tools, or the law change. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of the page. Material changes to how we handle enquiry data will be stated here before they take effect.
